Fixing up the John Deere MC Crawler - Part 47 - Adjusting the final drive steering clutch

Today we are doing final assembly on the final drive steering clutch and adjusting it as per a John Deere service bulletins instructions. Lavoy over at jdcrawlers.com said that this step is imperative and most people skip it. But it is an important step that shouldn't be skipped to make sure that the clutch and the throw-out bearing works smoothly, doesn't bind up and returns like it should for many years to come.

So come along with me as I learn how to adjust a final drive steering clutch!
-----------
We finally got around to working on our new MC crawler that came home with us last year and "quit" on us right before a big pond construction job. It has been sitting in the parking lot ever since...

Now it needs some love, partly for why it stopped running and partly because it has sat for so long in the weather.

Come along with us on this new series of fixing up the old crawler and putting it back to work!

Many thanks to http://jdcrawlers.com/ and http://farmerjohnsparts.com for getting me some much needed parts!
