Evan's Beginners Plan For Better Cardio/Fat Loss:

Level 1: Weeks 1-3 (Create Your New Gym Habit)

This is new for you, the goal in these first three weeks, is simply to create a new habit not become a rockstar in three weeks.

Go to the gym three times per week for three weeks straight, and do the following:

I recommend a ballistic stretch with a 5-10 minute walk on the treadmill flat with zero inclines at a normal walk pace for you.

Your workout for the first three weeks;

Progressing as you feel comfortable each week, set the incline up, and walk for 15 mins straight at a normal walking pace. As you build uptime over the three weeks try to hit 25 minutes with an incline.

Move to level two if you can already jog, but if it's been some time since you hit the gym at least the start of the first week with walking only just increase the time on the incline.

Level 2: ( Let's Start To Jog)

The same warm-up and cooldown but now I'd like you to simply go to the gym 4 times a week or every other day whichever you feel fits your schedule.

We will now do our 5-10 minute flat walk warm-up, then we will do 15 minutes of alternating between a jog speed and walk speed switching every minute until the 15 minutes is up.

The goal of completing this level is to do this consistently for three weeks in a row of 25 minutes alternating jog one minute with incline and walk one-minute incline then move to level three.

Note: As far as exact "speeds" and inclines this is person by person, I'm sure of your abilities, but it should be difficult and I would say at least an incline of 5.0 to 10.0 for everyone. I would go to the highest setting possible when on the incline and get to the point where I would up the incline gradually every 1-2 minutes until I "climbed" to the top.

Get used to it then test that method.

Levels 3 and 4: Running and Sprint with Walk

Once I got to this stage, I would warm up then I would start at a 5.0 incline and run for 1 minute, walk for one minute and then up the incline every minute until I reached the max incline.

Then once I completed that I would then set the incline back down minute by minute until I went back to 5.0. Some days I would run an extra 10-20 minutes flat afterwards.

The goal of this "cardio routine" is to make a lifestyle change, you'll notice after you watch the rules to live by in the video, that if you mix that with what I've explained here, you'll do great!

Finally, a common question, could you do Strong Lifts and what I recommend for fat loss... YES!

You'll find that it is not easy and as you progress heavily into strong lifts the workouts become quite long, I recommend you ask yourself what your biggest issue is strength or weight loss, and get started with one.

I have found in life that focusing on one thing versus many is quite beneficial to achieving your goals. Finally, Strong Lifts 5x5 and lifting weights, in general, will assist in fat loss :)

As usual my fans and friends, you asked and I deliver! I hope you got what you were looking for!
