Top 7 Essential Items You Can’t Go Without on your Cruise!!

After getting back from our 7 night cruise on Royal Carribean’s Symphony of the Seas, I realized there were definitely some items that in hindsight, I couldn't go without! If you are trying to be strategic about space, watch this video, because I am going to cover my top 7 items you should make space for in your suitcase when packing for your cruise.

Here they are:

Wrinkle Releaser: Cruise ships do not provide irons in the rooms, because they pose too big of a fire hazard. You are not allowed to bring one either! So, the best way to stay wrinkle free is to bring a generous amount of wrinkle releaser on board with you. I used it daily and it also left my clothes smelling fresh and got rid of that musty suitcase smell.

Plastic disposable shower caps: For just a few dollars, you can grab a bag of 50 shower caps from Walmart! These are fantastic and served a dual purpose for me! Of course, you can use it in the traditional sense when you need to shower but you are not ready for that wash day. But loved using these for keeping dirty items like my shoes separated from the rest of my other items in my beach bag and suitcase.

Magnetic Hooks! On a cruise, magnetic hooks offer an easy, affordable way to organize your cabin. This is beneficial because state rooms are typically quite small, and you want to maximize all the space you have. Getting things off the floor is a quick way to make your space feel organized and clean. Typically, staterooms don’t provide hooks, which happen to be the best practical feature for wet swimsuits and towels.
You might get a one or two in your cabin, but that's not really enough for all your bags, hats and coats and other things. So pack your own strong magnetic hooks because they will come in handy, especially when paired with my next must have item- clips. When you have been swimming all day, and you have a ton of wet clothes you need to dy quickly, having extra towel clips will save you! We popped a magnetic hook outside, grabbed a clothes hanger and clipped our wet clothes on there for a quick DIY clothes line. Of course, you can use these for dring your towels on those super windy days!

Sleep machine. The walls are super thin, and people enjoy nightlife on the ship. But it also means that if you are trying to get some shut eye after a long day out on the port, you might be trying to snooze to the sound of loud footsteps, laughing, crying, and so much more! Bring yourself a sleep machine so you can block some of that sound out with white noice and get that rest you need for your next big day.

Space Saver bags. These bags are perfect at the end of your trip to seal all those nasty, dirty clothes and items you didnt get a change to wash. You dont even need a vacuum to get the air out. Just roll out the air and it saves a ton of room in your suitcase to fit all those extra souvenirs you bought on the ship or at the ports!

Extra hangers! If you plan on bringing a lot of clothes, especially ones that need to be hung, definitely throw in a few extra hangers. The rooms do provide you with some, but I found that it wouldnt have been enough had I not brought a few extra.
