This video is about Contraception part 3: the progestogen only methods. Progestogens are synthetic hormones designed to mimic the body's own progesterone hormone.

There are several different ways of delivering this type of contraception: pills/injections/implants.

There is no break for a monthly bleed with these methods and you may have little or no bleeding, regular bleeding or erratic bleeding - it is impossible to predict for any one woman.

These methods are often suitable for women who can't have the combined methods of contraception, for example women who get migraines with aura.

The depot injection may delay your return to fertility by up to a year.
