Accelerating FreeNAS to 10G with Intel Optane 900P
Using the Intel Optane 900P 480GB SSD, I accelerate our FreeNAS server to be able to almost max out our 10G network in CIFS sharing to Windows PCs. This video shows you what I learned, how I did it, and the benchmarking I did along the way.
The settings I needed to add to my FreeNAS tunables are:
vfs.zfs.l2arc_write_max: 400000000
vfs.zfs.l2arc_write_boost: 400000000
vfs.zfs.l2arc_noprefetch: 0
