Glasgow City Union Line Northbound

As part of the SRPS Routes & Branches railtour, Deltic 22 "Royal Scots Grey" hauls the train northbound over the southern part of the City of Glasgow Union Railway Line, from Shields Road up to High Street Junction.

The line from Bellgrove up to Springburn is also part of the Union Line, but this semi-mothballed southern part is what people generally think of when the line is mentioned.

The line is also known as the "Tron Line", as it passes by the Trongate. It would form part of the proposed Glasgow Crossrail project. At the moment, it is only used for DMU ECS workings, and perhaps the occasional freight train.
