Being Me: Haley
Haley Birch lost her legs as a baby when she fell sick with meningococcal meningitis.
Seventeen-year-old Haley is determined to achieve whatever she sets her mind to.
Earlier this year she was the first disabled person to be accepted into the induction course at the NZ Army base — and she climbed Waitangi Maunga in a record-breaking 22 minutes – backwards.
In this episode, we go inside the daily life of the unstoppable Haley Birch.
This video was made with funding from NZ On Air.
