Young asylum seeker sobs as Merkel explains why she cannot stay in Germany

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was left in a tricky situation on Wednesday (15 July) when she was confronted by a girl who, along with her family, was nearly deported from Germany to Lebanon.

The situation arose during a citizens' dialogue session in Rostock, titled "Good life in Germany", which included a question and answer session with 32 students (aged between 14-17).
