After a much ordinary start to IPL in the first few years, Kolkata Knight Riders sought to bring a change in their team jersey and IPL logo ahead of IPL 2012. Under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, the franchise revamped its entire personnel before the fifth edition of the IPL. Co-incidentally, it brought luck to the KKR setup as the Kolkata-based franchise won their maiden IPL title in 2012.

It was a remarkable season for the Gambhir-led franchise as they cruised their way to an IPL win against title favorites Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Final. The franchise invested immense faith in their players and they came up trumps as KKR emerged as 2012 IPL winners.
ust like KKR in 2012, Delhi Capitals sought to bring a change in their setup ahead of IPL 2019. The franchise dropped its name from Delhi Daredevils to introduce it as Delhi Capitals in the last IPL season. The change did wonders to DC’s fortunes in the edition as they reached the Playoffs after a string of poor performances since IPL 2012.

With a mix of youth and experience, Delhi did possibly everything right before they lost against the more experienced bunch of men against CSK in Qualifier 2. It was a remarkable turnaround for the team as they witnessed a journey from rags to riches inside 12 months. It might come across as a mere co-incident that a change in its IPL logo came along with better performance, but it certainly worked for the franchise in IPL 2019.

This is the third occasion when a team has resorted to introducing a fresh start ahead of a new season. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will hope that their new logo can inspire a series of events that can help them get their hands to the elusive IPL trophy in 2020. The RCB logo is a derivative of their previously used IPL logo.

The new logo is a symbol of ‘Bold brigade’ and embodies the spirit of challenge which might be the way forward for the Virat Kohli-led RCB in IPL 2020. The RCB fans will be eager to see their team sporting the new jersey with a brand new logo in IPL 2020. While it remains to be seen if this change can spark a change in fortunes just like it did for KKR and DC in the past, or will the old RCB story repeat itself even in IPL 2020.

The 14th edition of IPL will see a fresh start for the Punjab-based franchise as they opt to change their IPL team logo. In IPL 2021, Punjab Kings, formerly known as Kings XI Punjab, will not only enter the season with a new name but will also sport a new logo. This will be the fourth occasion in the history of IPL when an IPL team considers changing its logo.
