The dreaded knee funk, and surfing. That's not a cool combo.
I've tweaked, twanged, and torn my knee over the years, and I'm sure a lot of you have as well.
MCL's and ACL's, oh how fun!
First off, if you've got some serious pain, get it looked at by a pro!
If you've got some little aches here and there, and it's nothing traumatic, learn some strategies to help yourself along the way.
As a surfer, inevitably you're going to tweak a knee. In the pit, getting smashed, or just too much surfing, some tissue will get irritated here and there. Maybe a MCL tweak, ACL sprain, or just some general ache.....
You ought to know some strategies to work on your own body.
Here's a sequence of soft tissue strategies, progressing all the way through to some more advanced loading strategies.
Work on your own body, it's yours, so you ought to know how.
