"Quentin Tarantino recently spoke to Billions co-creator Brian Koppelman about a promise he made to his mother after she disparaged his childhood dream of being a screenplay writer.

In a new episode of The Moment, the filmmaker shared that he vowed to his mother, Connie Zastoupil, that she will never receive a “penny” from his success in the film industry after she scolded him for writing screenplays instead of focusing on school. Zastoupil reportedly had “a hard time about [Tarantino's] scholastic non-ability,” with the director adding that “in the middle of her little tirade, she said, ‘Oh, and by the way, this little ‘writing career’ — with the finger quotes and everything — this little ‘writing career’ that you’re doing? That s*it is f*cking over.”"
