Peugeot 508 vs Volvo S60 vs Kia Stinger

Peugeot 508 vs Volvo S60 vs Kia Stinger
At first glance, the new #Peugeot 508 surprises onlookers with an energetic and expressive presence. The car's height has been reduced - it now barely reaches 1.40 m - and the aerodynamic lines of the vehicle are reminiscent of the coupé style.

The back of the car also reveals an original feature of the new Peugeot 508: a deftly hidden tailgate that blends elegance with practicality and gives optimal access to the 487-litre boot.

The new Peugeot 508 enjoys the new-generation Euro 6.c PureTech and Blue HDi engines (with extended SCR technology) for best-in-class CO2 emission levels. These levels of performance are all the more remarkable as they take into account new technical provisions and the WLTP procedure, which seeks to harmonise test approved consumption levels and customer-usage consumption levels.

As such, there are two new petrol options (depending on destination), developed based on the 1.6L PureTech engine:

PureTech 180 S&S EAT8
PureTech 225 S&S EAT8 (GT version only) Related to the sport mode of electronic suspension, this solution provides zest and responsiveness worthy of the GT label.

Four diesel options are available in the range (depending on destination), built based on the 1.5L and 2.0L BlueHDi engines:

BlueHDi 130 S&S 6-speed manual, which is the entry-level engine and the only one offering a six-speed manual gearbox
BlueHDi 130 S&S EAT8
BlueHDi 160 S&S EAT8
BlueHDi 180 S&S EAT8
#Volvo Cars, the premium car maker, revealed the new Volvo #S60 mid-size premium sports sedan at the company's first US manufacturing plant in Charleston, South Carolina.

Two turbo-charged and super-charged plug-in hybrid petrol engines will be available in the new S60: Volvo's T6 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid that generates a combined 340hp, and the award-winning T8 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid that delivers 400hp. Volvo's proven T5 and T6 petrol engines will be available at launch.

The new Volvo S60 shares Volvo Cars' own Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, safety technology and infotainment system with the new V60 premium mid-size estate, launched earlier this year, as well as the top-of-the-line 90 Series cars and award-winning XC60, all of which have achieved industry-leading safety ratings. This makes the new S60 one of the safest cars on the road.
If the chassis symbolizes the bones of a gran turismo, then surely the available powertrains represent its heart. Oriented longitudinally and set rearward beneath the long, sculpted hood, a choice of two turbocharged engines are available.

While both engines are still under development, the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Theta II engine produces an estimated 255 horsepower at approximately 6,200 rpm. Max torque of 260 lb.-ft. is available from 1,400 - 4,000 rpm. Performance credentials are further enhanced through the available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 Lambda II engine, which is anticipated to produce 365 horsepower at an estimated 6,000 rpm and offer max torque of 376 lb.-ft. from 1,300 - 4,500 rpm. Kia is targeting 5.1 seconds to 62 mph and a top speed of 167 mph with the twin turbocharged V6.

A choice of alloy wheels and tires are also offered. The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder models ride on 225/45R-18 performance tires while the 3.3-liter V6 is shod with staggered ultra-high performance rubber; 225/40R-19 in front and 255/35R-19 at the rear. Vented Brembo® disc brakes are standard on the 3.3-liter twin turbo and feature quad-piston front calipers and dual-piston rear calipers.
