Growing up, I always had short hair. Always. 

Now and then I would tell myself I was growing it out, but then it would begin to reach peak awkward length, and I would cave and have it chip-chopped off. It was regularly cut into a bob that sat neatly at my chin, and that didn't change until I was around 20 years old, when I decided it was time to grow it out. Finally. 

Seven years later and here I am. I still have long hair and it's only getting longer.

It was time for a change.

With the opening of hairdressers around my local area, I wanted to support local businesses. I booked an appointment, followed all safety precautions, and walked on down to Pink Lime in Vancouver.

I opted for a bob, all one length, just below my chin. A style that is everywhere just now, and one that is not unique. I'm OK with that. I just wanted a haircut that would grow out with some kind of look that I believe to be beautiful, with which I could still put my hair behind my ears. 

The style itself, as in not the cut but the way it was dried, possibly won't be how I choose to wear it every day - I'm opting for a more poker straight kind of feel at this length - but the cut itself feels fantastic. 

I’m SO glad that I waited to have this done professionally. Although tempted while isolating to hack at my own hair, Brad Mondo’s videos gave me good reason not to. Thanks Brad!
