Joint CCRI–IAEA Workshop on Neutron Beams at High Energy
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬?
This joint CCRI–IAEA workshop, held from 7 to 8 July 2025 at the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna, brought together 119 experts (including 33 remote participants) to explore the current and future needs for high energy neutron metrology across a wide range of applications.
The workshop addressed how metrology can support sectors such as space and aviation, radiobiology, hadron therapy, accelerator-based research, and radiation protection, with particular focus on the availability of suitable neutron facilities worldwide. Over two days, participants shared 18 scientific presentations and in-depth discussions on instrumentation, dosimetry, reference standards and nuclear data.
