Visiting the Banana Street in Jakarta & eating bananas!

When I drove by here the other day, I took a good note of all the endless banana booth (or stalls) here. It was never ending. I had never seen so many banana shops in one place. I told myself I needed to come here to see what this street was all about. And of course to try the bananas!

I ended up coming and could not believe how many bananas shops there were. I'm still not sure why this whole street (or part of the street) is dedicated to selling so many bananas. Perhaps there is a place that grows bananas near by and drops them off here to vendors.

Regardless, the bananas are really good. The bananas I ate here are a bit sweeter than the ones I would find at the stores such as Wal Mart, Food4Less, Vons or Kroger. The bananas can be bought in bulk here, I mean, super bulk! Just massive amounts of bananas.

I think there is a great opportunity for a banana treats (dessert) place here. I can imagine a shop that sells protein shakes or pancakes/crepes or just any type of banana based food/meals.

If you're in Jakarta and craving bananas, this is the place to visit to get as many bananas as you can!
