Paul Barry pushes his views 'and ignores the issues' at the taxpayers' expense

The ABC’s Media Watch host Paul Barry continues to push his green-left views on climate change, display his “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and carry on his crusade against News Corp says Sky News host Chris Kenny.

"As you know on this program I've highlighted how his show, MediaWatch, has misled the public on drought and climate change, and given deliberately just one side of the ongoing debate about the use of hydroxychloroquine," Mr Kenny said.

The drug in the past has been promoted by US President Donald Trump as being potentially effective in fighting the coronavirus.

“I hope the drug works, I hope any drug works,” Mr Kenny said.

“Barry clearly wants this one to fail for the idiotic reason that Donald Trump has promoted it”.

“Having failed repeatedly to tell his audiences about any studies claiming success with hydroxychloroquine, and having failed to tell them about reputable trials of the drug in Australia, he once again has seized on a report dismissing the drug”.

“Is there anyone at the ABC doing anything to make sure taxpayers get value out of Paul Barry".

Discussing the issue with Sky News host Chris Kenny, Journalist Rebecca Weisser said Mr Barry "seems to walk through life with one eye shut".
