Patrick Söderlund, CEO of Embark Studios, directly addressed two major player concerns in a recent interview: cheaters and the speed of content delivery.

On the cheating front, Söderlund confirmed the team has been "pretty aggressive" and has already banned "tens of thousands of players" so far . He acknowledged that staying ahead of cheaters is difficult, but the work is ongoing. The developer has also implemented item restoration for players who lose gear to confirmed cheaters .

On the second big issue — content pace — Söderlund explained the shift to twice‑yearly major updates. The team is prioritizing quality and meaningful change over rushed monthly patches . The next major update, "Frozen Trail," arrives in October and will be the largest since launch.
