When BR Standard 9F 92220 Evening Star was outshopped from Swindon Works in 1960 or Trangkil No. 4 left Hunslet in Leeds in 1971, the idea that steam locomotives would be built in Britain in the 21st Century would not of been believed by many.

In this video, we take a look at 24 steam locomotives built this century: Catch Me Who Can at Bridgnorth, Steam Elephant & Puffing Billy at Beamish, Broad Gauge replica Fire Fly at Didcot, A1 60163 Tornado, GWR Steam Railmotor 93, Great Laxey Mines Railway Ant, Lynton & Barnstaple Lyd and Lyn, Hunslet's Statfold and Jack Lane, Kerr Stuart Jennie at Amerton, Decauville Edgar at Apedale, Steamplex, Wren Bevan at Bressingham, Fernilee, Perseverance, Samson at Beamish, Corris No. 7, Owl at Kirklees, St Christopher based at Bressingham, Jack based at Dragon Miniature Railway, Douglas at Conwy Valley Railway Museum, Otter based at Pecorama and Bunty at Heatherslaw Light Railway.
