Replicating Soft Plastic Lures with Vac 50 Resin by Makelure com
Vac-50 by makelure.com gives anglers a way to produce a soft plastic injection mold for a fraction of the cost of aluminum molds. This video demonstrates the following steps to guide you through making your own injection mold: (1) find/build a moldbox, (2) gather the necessary materials for your injection ports and vent lines, (3) Mix portion of Vac-50 according to instructions and pour first layer, (4) insert/embed lure and injection ports into resin, (5) allow to cure and drill locators, (6) spray liberally with mold release, (7) mix and pour second half of resin, (8) once cured, separate molds and demold originals; clean up ports/prepare mold for injection, (9) Reassemble mold and inject with Alumisol, (10) allow to cool, demold new lures, and remove flash.
