Don't Use Garden Soil in Containers. Use This Instead.

When you grow vegetables in containers, the rules change.

Containers are a closed system. They don’t behave like raised beds or in-ground gardens. The soil volume is limited, roots can’t spread, moisture evaporates faster, and nutrients get used up more quickly.

In this quick video, I explain:

• Why you should use potting mix (not garden soil)
• Why containers dry out faster
• Why regular feeding matters
• And how to think about containers differently

Containers work beautifully — they just require a slightly different mindset.

If you’re building your first vegetable garden, this is one of those small clarifications that makes a big difference.
