I mean really tho, if we lose an hour, the kids sleep a little later but are dragging by midday and going into a frenzy of exhaustion—and if we gain an hour, the kids are up at 5am bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for the day. So in all honesty, when you have kids under 5, daylight savings BLOWS EITHER WAY. When will this stupid practice be done away with? I snuck away at noon today for a little holy time with Jesus. I couldn’t get there yesterday and had planned to, so as soon as i had a green light at home with kids napping, older kids tending and little boys glued to iPads (who didn’t even know i left), I bailed. I wanted to be sure I “kept my appointment with the Lord” even though I made no appointment and just showed up. Sometimes you just gotta SHOW UP and you get the points for it. In school, at church, at a kid’s soccer game, at home….😕 If I show up for God, he’ll show up for me. And I really need him to show up right now in my life. The doors are open, the windows, the sky roof, the pet door, my arms, my ears, my heart…i feel like my heart is pronated flat on the floor just waiting for him to stitch it up and massage it to beat again. Sometimes I’m still bleeding out and on life support but I’ve got a healthy dose of good ole fashioned grit thanks to my gritty parents. We don’t go down easily.
