Part 7 – Fibreglass Basics – Glassing stringers - 1974 Sea Ray SRV 240 Weekender Re-build

Basic overview of working with fiberglass, what type of fiberglass cloth I use in my boat, and using polyester resin. A brief comparison of epoxy and polyester resins. Discussion of waxed and unwaxed (laminating) resin. A demonstration of applying fiberglass cloth and polyester resin to the stringers of a boat.

I also have a discussion at the end of the video covering how I initially tab the new stringers in my boat, including how I mix the thickened polyester resin to fill the gap between the bottom of the stringer and the fibreglass hull.

This is part 7 of an ongoing series of videos showing the complete rebuild of this boat - it was completely rotted when I started the work.

An earlier video shows how I built the stringers and floor in the cabin - see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8NO73NAvqo
