I do not condone trespassing, and always do your research if you are heading to an unfamiliar area. I discovered the first pond by using a common fishing application known as fish brain where other fellow anglers have recorded catching fish. There was no "private property" indication where I parked my vehicle. The private property signs that this friendly gentleman was referring to were located on closed gates that were locked in which I had passed, but nothing directly indicated the pond was private. I simply pulled on to an unmarked trail, and approached the pond with ease (did not have to cross over any closed private property lines that were clearly labeled). In the future I will be able to identify this area as off limits and will not be returning. I would never intentionally cross a private property line, and if this pond wasn't on fish brain I would never have discovered it as a fishing location. Do your research. In this episode we head out in to the world to find a new aquatic friend. I have a bachelors degree in fish and wildlife biology so the natural world is something that I am forever trying to understand. My greatest interest is in the realm of fisheries where I have an entry level understanding of aquaculture systems. Ive always wanted a wild fish species to culture into a healthy pet, and raising an aggressive predatory species like a large mouth bass has been on my bucket list. This journey started out by me being stuck in the mud which was pretty unfortunate. To make matters worse I had been told the pond was private from a resident of this property. We soon learned that we did not belong on this property and headed to a more public location. Many bass were caught, and we were able to bring one back to our aquarium. As this fish grows we plan on upgrading him to either a large aquarium, or an outdoor pond where we have plans to build an aquaponics garden. Stay tuned for the future of Bruce the Bass.
