Between the 1960s and the 1980s, he had 38 number-one hits on the US country charts, several of which also made the Billboard all-genre singles chart.[1] Haggard continued to release successful albums into the 2000s.
He received many honors and awards for his music, including a Kennedy Center Honor (2010), a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2006), a BMI Icon Award (2006), ]and induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (1977). Country Music Hall of Fame (1994)[4] and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (1997 He died on April 6, 2016 — his 79th birthday — at his ranch in Shasta County, California, having recently suffered from double pneumonia.
Haggard's last recording, a song called "Kern River Blues," described his departure from Bakersfield in the late 1970s and his displeasure with politicians. The song was recorded February 9, 2016, and features his son Ben on guitar. This record was released on May 12, 2016.

Dwight David Yoakam (born October 23, 1956) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actor, known for his pioneering style of country music.[1] First becoming popular in the mid-1980s, Yoakam has recorded more than twenty albums and compilations, charted more than thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, and sold more than 25 million records. He has recorded five Billboard #1 albums, twelve gold albums, and nine platinum albums, including the triple-platinum This Time.

Lyrics:
This old smoke filled bar is somethin' I'm not used to
But I gave up my home to see you satisfied
And I just called to let you know where I'll be livin'
It's not much but I feel welcome here inside

And I've got swingin' doors a jukebox and a barstool
And my new home has a flashin' neon sign
Stop by and see me anytime you want to
'Cause I'm always here at home 'til closin' time

I've got everythin' I need to drive me crazy
I've got everythin' it takes to lose my mind
And in here the atmosphere's just right for heartaches
Thanks to you I'm always here 'til closin' time

And I've got swingin' doors a jukebox and a barstool
And my new home has a flashin' neon sign
Stop by and see me anytime you want to
'Cause I'm always here at home till closin' time

Yeah, I'm always here at home till closin' time #MerleHaggard #CountryOutlaw #CountryClassic #RonjasCountryMusic #RonjaCCQ
