Microsoft Surface Duo drops in September for $1399

Almost a year ago Microsoft teased a pair of folding devices, the Windows-powered Surface Neo, and the Android-based Surface Duo. Since then we've heard little from the company about its foldable plans, but Microsoft just announced the smaller Surface Duo is available for preorder and will for sale on September 10th.

The Duo uses a split-screen hinge that let's each screen fold all the way around, and close with no gap. It's powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset, and promises decent battery life, if only a single camera.

The Duo will not come cheap, though, at $1400 it's not out of line for premium smartphones these days, and darn affordable for a foldable.
