Discover Attention Assist – the innovative safety system from Mercedes-Benz Trucks that analyses driving behaviour and helps detect driver fatigue. Attention Assist monitors several variables, such as lane-keeping, steering behaviour, driver activities, length of journey and driving time. If the system observes declining attention levels or driver fatigue, it will send an acoustic and visual warning to recommend that the driver take a break. The Electronic Parking Brake with HOLD function provides excellent safety for the driver, the truck and those around them. It is automatically activated in certain pre-conditions, for example, whenever the engine gets turned off or when if driver's door is open while the truck is running. In addition, the integrated HOLD function activates when the driver presses on the brake pedal firmly and the vehicle comes to a standstill. It is released as soon as the driver presses the accelerator again. This assists in avoiding the danger of the truck rolling back when taking off on an uphill gradient.
