Honorable Minister of Health Mr. Gagan Kumar Thapa was the keynote speaker during Open Data Day 2017 Kathmandu on March 4, 2017. He expressed that opening up data in any sector such as health is very important to create an environment of accountability and transparency. He also shared about adapting open data in his work. He launched Ministry of Health Performance Tracking System (http://smarthealth.mohp.gov.np/agencymonitoring/public) stating a perfect example of government opening data to be transparent to citizen.
