We had a discussion about this on Tumblr. I pointed out that Sherlock had prevented four separate suicides in four separate seasons, and none of them were influenced by his friends. Sherlock was the one who initiated them.

*Series 01.* He took John Watson around London with him to reassure the man that he was not broken up by the war.
*Series 02.* He talked to Henry Knight and immediately told him the truth about his demons and reassured him that he was not turning “crazy.”
*Series 03.* He talked to Major James Sholto that there may be the perfect time to die but it was not that day or any day soon.
*Series 04.* He accompanied “Faith Smith” all around London and threw her gun away so she had less options for suicide.

Most people say Sherlock only became "human" or "sweet" or "kind" or "gentle" when he had his friends but that's not true. Sherlock had always been that but he buried it within himself. He thought of these as weakness and he can't afford to be weak, but look at him.

After he had finally opened his heart, after he had finally let people in, after he came out of that dark hole he made for himself, he can finally be the person he had always been. He doesn't need to be afraid of his own goodness.

I love the Crown so much, guys. I watched it when Season One first appeared and I binge-watched it exactly on Christmas 2016, and then I binge-watched it again last December when I was supposed to study for my exams wooo (Tho I'm still shookt that I stayed a Dean's Lister bwahahahha #miracle)
