At the time the 2011 Draft Class was considered one of the WEAKEST ever.

According to the scouts, most players had glaring flaws in their game, needed years to develop and even with the most favorable projections - looked like role players at best.

This was the conundrum with Kawhi.

Leonard was versatile, athletic and physically gifted

But he couldn’t really handle the ball or shoot the 3 well.

Because of his questionable skillset he nearly fell out of the Lottery

Of course, the Spurs saw something different.

And they took a HUGE risk.

On draft day, they traded one of their best players to grab Leonard.

Obviously it was the RIGHT move.

And looking back Leonard’s draft class turned out to be one of the Most LOADED drafts ever.
