Love and basic color theory | Kolby Harrell | TEDxCreativeCoast

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Shades of gray are hard to explain, so we simplify. But buying into arbitrary social constructions helps to perpetuate stereotypes. Kolby talks color theory, and how that can be applied, similarly, between people.

Originally from a small Indiana town, Kolby Harrell considers a 40-day, 7,500-mile road trip visiting the country's National Parks one of his most impressive feats. He later landed in Savannah, where he volunteers to teach creative writing workshops and serves as Fellowship Community Organizer at Deep - a youth literacy nonprofit. He also teaches reading and writing enrichment programs at East Broad K-8 and subs in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. As a poet and spoken word artist, Kolby is active in Savannah's literary community. He is a collector of vinyls, a lover of book swaps, and a graduate of Indiana University.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
