The USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG-125) is the first of the Flight III varient, the 75th ship in the Arleigh Burke-class, and the newest destroyer of the US Navy to be commissioned on October 7th, 2023.
It is homeported at San Diego and named after Jacklyn Harold "Jack" Lucas (1928 - 2008) of the US Marine Corps, who was awarded the Medal of Honor in World War II after placing himself on top of two grenades to save several other Marines. He later became a Captain in the US Army.
