Types of Acne and Types of Skin: Hormonal, Fungal, Age Related, Combination, Dry & More

Oh boy, this is an interesting topic to cover at the moment. There are many claimed #acne types out there, but far too often people think they have something that they don't. We're going to tackle our beliefs on acne types and give you our opinion on what's actually going on.

Acne is a fickle and highly controversial topic. In the #skincare industry you can find hundreds of different products that claim to treat a myriad of different acne types. In fact, may large #skincarebrands create entirely different lines for specific acne types, and while there are different types of pimples/zits such as whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, milia, etc.., it is our belief that there are not many different types of acne. Acne in this sense is what we are referring to as the result of what you are doing, or not doing, to your face.

We believe that all skin is the same and it's what you do to it that causes it to react. The number one cause of acne and skin issues in women is the use of foundation. Aside from this, there are many skincare companies that use products/ingredients that are very harsh and damaging to the skin as opposed to nutrient rich and nurturing. You can think of many non-natural products akin to different levels of paint thinner or wood stripper, some are stronger and some are weaker, but what they all have in common is that they take layers of your skin off chemically.

We have a lot to say about this for this video. There have been interesting videos posted recently around the harmful culture of acne shaming that is truly upsetting to those in the industry and especially so to those people who are promoting a positive self image.
