ABANDONED Untouched Anglican Church (TIMECAPSULE)

Closed in 2017, this Anglican Memorial church sits abandoned, with a future unknown. Built in 1922 and officially opened in 1926. It was dedicated as a memorial to soldiers who died in World War I, and is classified as a Class B Heritage building. maintenance costs became prohibitive while the ranks of the faithful dwindled. Only about 140 names remain on the parish register, and regular services usually draw only 50-80 people while the church has seating for 1000. With a heating bill of $4000-$5000 a month and all the congregation's money being used to fix the stonework and roof, it was only time until they knew they would lose the church. While many think the church will be used once again, we believe with the advanced state of decay and mould that the church will be demolished and made into something new, losing all the history left behind.
