The fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon is intensifying, despite the extension of a fragile US-brokered ceasefire by 45 days on May 15. Following the latest round of violence, the death toll has surpassed 3,000. More than one million people have been displaced since the fighting began on March 2.
Israel has been putting pressure on the Lebanese government to disarm the military group, claiming that Hezbollah remains an existential threat to its security.
