How to Insulate Walls and Ceilings -- by Home Repair Tutor
Do you hate being cold?
It doesn't have to be that way.
In fact: it's easy to make your home feel comfy.
Today we show you how to insulate walls and ceilings. We use batt insulation from Johns Manville.
My buddy Bill just built an addition. So we were lucky to have open walls and ceilings to show you our insulation tips.
Here are 8 tips to help you get started with your insulation project:
1. Get your stud and joist dimensions
2. Choose an insulation type
3. Cut batt insulation to size
4. Make sure insulation fits tight against framing
5. Staple tabs (if present) on inside of framing
6.Tape any seams or torn kraft-faced insulation
7. Don’t block air vents with ceiling insulation
8. Use spray foam around windows (specifically for windows)
Check out the video for all the details and a sweet surprise at the end.
