Describes the wide ranging considerations behind a wood-fire kiln loading. Covering placement of the bagwall, passage of flame, planning for side stoke fire boxes, plans for shelf stack placement, and zones of yohen (wood-fire effects). Yohen zones of effect are discussed extensively and examples are shown in order to help decide where individual pieces might be placed.
