Singapore to Batam

This was our first trip to Batam ( for me and my husband) I lived in Singapore for more than 10 years, and Batam is just an hour away by Ferry, yet I have never been to. During our spur of the moment Singapore trip, I wanted to escape to Batam for full body massage, and seafood fix. This is why it is included in our schedule. This must be the wrong timing as Batam is still very quiet, most of the shops, establishments are closed, few restaurant open and there's just really nothing else to do. It should be perfect for our plan to just relax, but then finding and place to eat, and spas also very limited, but we have maximised our time and just live the moment.
