T Row, KL Rows, and JI Rows Celebrate a Touchdown in the end zone, carrying flags and Mascots. Thats a Bull Tail Mascot with the American flag. At the OSU vs.Penn State Game 10 26 20. The Ohio State University Marching Band is divided into rows of 14 members each. Each row is called by a letter of the alphabet. Sometimes Rows with similar instruments are called by two letters. For instance KL Row are two rows of Sousas, K Row and L Row, and JI Row are two rows of percussion, J Row and I Row. T Row is made up of first and second part trumpets. Some (maybe all??) of the rows have mascots. One row, S Row, has a taxidermy squirrel dressed in a band uniform attached to the end of a stick. My favorite. Here, we see the T-Row representatives with the American Flag and Bull Tail Mascot, Here, T Row Squad Leader Billy Menges carries Matt Urbanek on his shoulders. The Bull Tail was adopted as the T-Row mascot decades ago because T-Row was the last row in the band, the tail end of the band. Get it? But not anymore since X-Row was added to the band many years later, and now brings up the rear .KL Row has a Chiquita Banana as a mascot. Don't know the story there. Not sure I want to. And JI row waves the State of Ohio flag. This running in the end zone routine is a traditional thing they do after a touchdown is scored. Does anyone ever read this stuff?
