Canadian History Needs Context: Insights on Kimberly Murray's statements

Ontario Chiefs recently posted a video by Kimberly Murray, former Special Interlocutor on Missing Children and Unmarked Burials related to Indian Residential Schools. In it, she claims that 'denialism' is hateful and violent. In this video explainer, I provide substantial historical context to rebut her claims, and I offer validation to Canadians who have questions about the Truth and Reconciliation reports and related compensation programs. History is not black and white; it is broad and nuanced. We need to be able to publicly and openly discuss these issues if Canada is to survive as a nation. We need to recognize that perhaps people do not want Canada to survive - perhaps we are in an ideological war without rules. If so, then such open, civil debate on our past if even more important.
