Normal sudoku rules apply. Solvers can locate a 'snake' in the grid, starting in the top left 1 and finishing in the bottom right 9. The snake is formed of orthogonally-connected cells in the sequence 123456789 and then repeating (ie back to 1,2, etc). It cannot intersect itself (but it can touch other cells on the snake). The clues outside the grid give the sum of the cells "sandwiched" between the 1 and 9 in the row/column.
