Lessons from a long war; Iraq, Afghanistan and history [9/10/2010]
Ryan Crocker, Dean and Executive Professor at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, looks at U.S. involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan in light of the history of both nations. Crocker served as U.S. Ambassador for Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Kuwait, and Lebanon. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009, and President Bush conferred on him the personal rank of Career Ambassador, the highest in the Foreign Service, in 2004.
