SQLite Forensics Lab: Exporting Samsung Tablet Database Evidence with FQLite
In this digital forensics lab, we walk through how to use FQLite to examine an SQLite database extracted from a Samsung tablet and export its contents into a .csv file for easier analysis and comparison.
This project focuses on opening the database in FQLite, reviewing database metadata, examining table contents, exporting records to a text file, and converting the extracted data into CSV format in Excel. It’s a great hands-on exercise for students learning SQLite forensics, mobile database analysis, metadata review, and how investigators prepare database evidence for reporting and comparison.
This lab also reinforces an important forensic workflow concept: raw database evidence often needs to be normalized into a more readable format before it can be compared with other files, artifacts, or investigative findings.
