Narrative Therapy
The purpose of this video is to provide basic background information about Narrative Therapy (NT). NT is a psycho-therapeutic technique that is based on feminist theory, social psychology, and literary theory. First designed by David Epstein and Michael White, this approach offers an alternative to the more traditional, empirical approaches of modernist therapy. NT embraces social constructivism and operates under the assumption that, because there is no absolute truth, the way that people construct their stories is most important thing. Examples of specific techniques and applications of theory are briefly discussed in the video. Please consult one of the many textbooks available on the topic for more information.
