Today we share with you the dark and disturbing history of the original Griffith Park Zoo, an abandoned zoo in Los Angeles, CA.

The zoo operated from 1912-1966 before being replaced with the modern Los Angeles Zoo. We’ll introduce you to some interesting characters, including Griffith J. Griffith, Mary Agnes Christina Mesmer, and William Selig, and also talk about the original zoo animals. This video is Part 1 in our series, so make sure you stay tuned Part 2! In Part 2, we visit the creepy abandoned zoo where the metal cages from the 1930s are still standing, but are now covered with graffiti.
