A fun song I wrote for my elementary science students to help teach about bats! Shows, echolocation, what bats eat, and the fact that bats are the only flying mammal! Hope you enjoy! (a good one for Halloween!)

What do bats eat?
Bugs and things!
Some eat fruits,
They all have wings!
Some love flowers
They Pollinate!
Like bees believe nectar is real great!
Help control pests,
Like biting mosquitoes
Eat them at meal time,
like people eat Cheetos
Some eat fish, and frogs, and lizards,
Bats are really hunting wizards...

For your science journal,
Things awake at night,
We call those things nocturnal,
Bats are up at night,
Sleeping through the day,
Night sight is awesome
Used to catch their prey..
Sleeping upside down,
Hanging in their roost,
Many hibernate,
When the temp needs a boost,
Others choose to migrate,
To a warmer spot,
Bats are awesome mammals,
And some like it where it’s hot...
