The Truth About Goaldiggers
Speaker: MESHELLE
MESHELLE is a wife, mother, and sought after comedienne whose appearances include Nickelodeonʼs Search for the Funniest Mom in America 3, and shows such as Martin Lawrence Presents: THE FIRST AMENDMENT STAND UP and BETʼs Comic View. MESHELLE also pioneered the role of "Michelle" in the hit Stage Play "Woman Thou Art Loosed" written by TD Jakes and Terry McFadden. A graduate of Bowie State University and a former Temple University Doctoral level student; MESHELLE opted for an extended leave-of-absence after 3 years of matriculation in the Department of School Psychology to pursue her comedic career. As a 2010-2011 Open Society Institute Community Fellow, MESHELLE will implement GoalDIGGERS: The Sankofa Project, introducing 15 African American girls from Baltimore City to the study of their ancestry, heritage and lineage utilizing Anthropology, technology and DNA testing with a culminating voyage to Ghana, West Africa. MESHELLE is also the author of "101 Things Every Girl/Young Woman of Color Should Know."

A graduate of McDaniel College, Mel's doctoral work took place at the University of Stirling, Scotland UK, with a focus on human kinetics, human rights and Olympiads.
