Here's a quick summary of what I show in this video.
The first thing that you need to make sure you do is choosing the keywords with the right difficulty.
If your site is relatively new, then you should be choosing keywords with the Difficulty score of less than 5 ideally. That will help you ensure that you give yourself the best chance of actually ranking in Google.
The next thing I personally do is ensuring that there are at least 2 or more "weak" websites already ranking on page 1 for my target keywords. By "weak" I mean any website that has "AR" score of higher than 1,000,000 (or 1M).
That ensures that there's a good chance that your newer website also has a decent chance of getting onto that coveted first page spot.
The third step is to check the length of the content that's currently on page 1. It's important to ensure that a lot of the ranking content is short (under 1,500 words, ideally under 1,000 words). If there's a lot of short-form content ranking, it means that if you write a piece that's long and in-depth (over 3,000 words), you will have a really high chance of outranking them and ranking on Google first page.
Finally, the last thing that you should do is make sure that you write an AWESOME piece of content. Without good content, you will never rank in Google, even for super-easy terms.
My rules for creating great content are: over 2,000 words in length, covering the topic in a lot of detail and ensuring that you have excellent media on the page, such as images and embedded videos.
That's all the basics of SEO that I personally use to rank my content on the 1st page of Google, time after time.
I hope you enjoy the video!
Cheers
