Easy way to clean black mould mold from silicone mastic sealant caulking.

This effective method requires no scraping and no removing and replacing the sealant. Black mould is unsightly and unhealthy. Once it has a hold, it is difficult to remove using standard cleaners, mould removal sprays or liquids.

This easy method requires four easily available household items:

- thick strong bleach;
- sheets of toilet paper;
- protection for your hands;
and
- cotton wool balls unravelled.

The tissue/cotton wool keeps the bleach in place against the mould. You need to leave the bleach in place for 12 to 18 hours. (Possibly overnight.) Wearing protective gloves, remove tissue/cotton wool and dispose of safely. Always wear protection when handling bleach and follow the instructions on the bottle.
