"In Memoriam, Easter 1915" by Edward Thomas

I give a talk on Edward Thomas, his prose and poetry, and particularly his friendship with Robert Frost. Frost's poem, "The Road Less Travelled", refers to Thomas's indecisiveness. Latterly, whether to take his family to the USA and join Robert Frost’s family, or to remain and join the war effort. Eventually, Thomas chose the latter, and died near Arras on 9th April 1917, Easter Monday.

I have now done two poetry readings at the Eastbury Church, in the village of Eastbury near Lambourne in Berkshire, where Edward Thomas's wife Helen lived after his death, and where there is a stained glass window dedicated to Edward and Helen, commissioned by their daughter Myfanwy.
