About Aesop’s Fables
More than two thousand years ago there lived in Greece, a man called Aesop.
Whenever Aesop, (pronounced E-sop), saw people doing a wrong or cruel thing he told them a story. In the story he tried to show them how certain actions can have certain consequences. Although the stories are mostly about animals, they are animals which do the sort of things humans do. Here are some of his fables. (A fable is a story designed to teach us something.) Try and work out what each story means!
